To See Jesus 05:50
I was born and grew, the shortest of my family, Measured head to shoe, I couldn't have been more than five foot three, My job was collecting taxes from my people, Every day I'd lie and cheat, and ask for double, My hope was in my wealth, I heard about this man named Jesus, He came from Galilee, They said He offered forgiveness, and made the blind to see, What's more, they said He had dinner, not just with Pharisees, But with tax collectors and sinners, people considered unclean, Would He dine with me? What would He say, to a sinner like me, (2X) Would He forgive, and set me free? I guess I'll have to see... I wonder what it would be like, to see Him face to face, And if He offered me forgiveness, well that would be amazing grace, I've done more wrong, than I could ever repay, And my sin is so heavy, my good deeds could never outweigh, What would Jesus say? What would He say, to a sinner like me? (4X) Would He forgive, and set me free? Or would He pass by, and leave me be? I've gotta find out, climb that sycamore tree, For my Lord, I need to see, I guess I'll have to see... I want to see Jesus, I want to see Him now, I want to see Jesus, when He comes through our town, I want to see Jesus, just to catch a glimpse of Him, I want to see Jesus, could He forgive my sins?

Desert 03:44
Went to the desert, what did I see? I saw the devil, saying "Bow down to me, And I will give you this world, and all the treasures it stores all for free, If you'll just call me your lord and kindly fall down and bow on one knee," But I saw Jesus look Him right in the eyes, and tell him what the Scriptures say, You can't tempt the Lord your God with all of your lies, trust in Him alone He's the way, out of the desert... Went to the desert, what did I see? Still saw the Devil, saying "Bow down to me, Cause that old Jesus wasn't God, He was just a good man who could teach, And you can work for your soul, if you'll just give me control you'll be free, You know that I can get you anything you want, just trust in me with all of your lives, I've got a set of rules that's guaranteed to punch you a ticket straight to paradise, or the desert... Went to the desert, what did I see? Thousands of people, and they were all deceived, Because they thought that they knew, what they needed to do, God to please, And my heart broke inside, compassion swallowed my pride, I was grieved, Jesus said "I'm the Way, the Truth, and the Life, the Living Water, Bread, Door and Vine, Any other path is just the Devil's delight, if you're not with the Life than you're dyin' in the desert...

They climbed the hill, to Gethsemane, He went a little further still, and fell down on His knees, Sweat drops of blood, and His agonized pleas, Father take this cup, but if it must, may it be, His thoughts turned to His friends, though they were all asleep, "Father keep them in Your truth, and give them unity," Then He looked beyond those years, He prayed so selflessly, For all those who would believe, and He prayed for me, He prayed for me! And as the blood flowed from His pores onto the ground below, oh such agony, He looked beyond Himself, beyond the pain, beyond His death, and He prayed for me, Before I ever took a step or ever spoke a word, before I even breathed, The Holy Son of God walked perfectly and used His last breaths, to pray for me, He prayed for me! They say the prayers of a righteous man, bear much fruit, They say that prayer is a powerful thing, and I hope it's true, Because there was only one man, in all of history, Who had the very power and righteousness of God above, And he prayed for me, He prayed for me! And as the hour of death grew near and darkness filled the skies, oh how can it be? The selfless savior gave His body as a sacrifice, and He died for me, And even now when skies grow dark and words are hard to find, I have a great high priest, Who hears my broken cries and knows the pain I can't express, and He prays for me, He prays for me! I pray not just for these, but for all who will believe, That together they may be, just as you are in me, And I in you in they in us, bound in endless love, Father keep them till that day, these things I pray, These things I pray, these things I pray...

Covered in mud, from walking down dirty trails, Not too attractive, but they're missing just a few nails, That mud is caked on and crackin' with a layer underneath, My beautiful feet! They're bitten and blistered, from the bugs and the sun, And you know I tried to fight it, but the stench must've won, They're beat up, and bloodied, they're quite a sight to see, These beautiful feet! Careful little feet wherever you go, Be spreadin' His gospel from shore to shore, Never lose focus on your main goal, Cause that's what makes you beautiful... The moral of the story, I'd like you all to see, Your feet may be dirty, but Jesus can wash them clean, They may be wretched, unsightly, and borderline diseased, But if they carry the good news, all the senses will be pleased, On mission, effective, those puppies prove to be, Some beautiful feet!

I was only eight years old, I ate the bread and drank the cup, I was no great theologian, but I knew enough, There was a man who came from heaven, well He was much more than a man, Through His death I was forgiven, and in His life I now could stand, I heard about Him in Sunday School, and my parents taught me too, Then one night I confessed my sins, told Him what He already knew, And as I took that first communion, there's no way I could've known, All the ways my Lord would use me, It is through Him that I have grown.. (Chorus) Looking back, looking forth, See what the bread and cup are worth, They tell the story of the Holy Lamb of God, Until He comes back to this Earth, We're looking back, looking forth, Looking back, looking forth. He was 33 years old, He took the bread and cup, Said have a taste of my broken body, and a drink of priceless blood, Later tonight you will betray me, you'll fall asleep then fall away, But all these sins I can forgive you, through the price I'm gonna pay, You've heard about this man named Moses, and the sacrificial lamb, They were never enough to save you, but I'm telling you I AM, And as they took that first communion, even then I think He knew, Some day a broken wretch named Justin, would fall to his knees and turn to You, (Repeat Chorus) Hallelujah (4X) Take the bread, drink the cup, Remember your first love, On this journey to death from birth, We're looking back, we're looking forth.

I've been workin on this tower, since I've been alive, Layin brick upon brick, is my nine to five, We're gonna make it to heaven, we're building so high, Gonna show the mighty power, of all mankind, Every able-bodied man, is here and at work, We're all in this together, not a day would we shirk, So I ask my friend Joey, "Hey could you hand me some screws?" The only reply that I hear, "Sacrebleu!" Working on this tower of Babel, Hearin' words that ain't never been used, I thought we were gonna make it to heaven, But now I'm just a little confused... I say "This is heavy, someone come help me move this stone," "No comprendo, senor," is all I get from Timone, Then I bump into Bobby, and he says "Psprezm" I sneeze and hear "Gezundheit," I guess that's some kind of blessin'. Working on this tower of Babel, Hearin' language I ain't never heard before, We'll fall apart if this keeps on going, I don't think that I can take anymore! I thought that I could count on Landon, But now I need Rosetta Stone to understand him, We might as well give up and go home, We aren't gettin' any work done, We thought that we could show God our power, But we couldn't even build a tower... I've been building up myself since the day of my birth, Tryin' to make myself important, someone famous on this Earth, I keep thinking everybody needs to know my name, But then God came and showed me, my own shame! Working on my tower of babel, I thought for sure that I could touch the sky, There's only one way to make it to heaven, Not found in me, it's Jesus Christ!

Well it's been two thousand years, so why is He not here, And they say He left in an instant, but no one has seen Him since then, And you tell me just have faith, but there are doubts I can't erase, And you say these are short trials, but mine stretch on for miles, And you say there's a living hope, but mine is dead and cold, I don't think I can see it like you, for me it's just not true... And you say I can be born again, but you don't know where I've been, And You offer salvation, but You don't know what I've done, And You want me to be Your child, but You can see that I'm running wild, And You say you'll love me as Your own, but I've never had a home, And I've told myself that You're not real, but somehow You melt my steel, Are You really there? And do You really care? If so please hear my cry, save my life before I die... I fall down on my knees, I send to you my pleas, And You can hear my voice, I can finally rejoice! Rejoice, rejoice, you have been born again, Rejoice, rejoice, you have found the greatest friend, Rejoice, rejoice, you now hold a living hope, Rejoice, rejoice, He has saved your soul, Though for now life may be hard, And your eyes can't see the Lord, In your heart is true belief, And your love for Him will lead you to greatly rejoice!

He's stumblin toward the edge, he thinks he knows it all, or at least quite a lot, The questions he once had, he's answered in his head, and he's his own god, And maybe someday, when life is more than he can take, he'll lean on someone else, But right now he's feeling swell, and there's no such thing as hell, and if there is it's just as well, he'll get to that someday... They're drawn toward death, oh hold them back, They're staggering to slaughter, oh hold them back, Like sheep without a shepherd, oh hold them back, They wander in the desert, oh hold them back, hold them back! She grew up in the faith, at least that's what she'd say, but the faith was never hers, She went to Sunday School, but somewhere in all those rules, she missed His greatest treasure, And right now she has no time, she can't have God in her life, she got enough of that back home, And maybe someday, she'll get back in touch with her faith, and maybe she could even pray, but not today... They're living in rebellion, oh hold them back, They need someone to tell them, oh hold them back, Maybe they don't wanna hear it, oh hold them back, But we beg You Holy Spirit, please hold them back... Come to me, all the weary, and all the heavy laden, and I will give you rest, Seek my face, ask your questions, and I will be the answer, yes you can be born again, There is hope for those in darkness, stumbling and lost, I will be the Light, I'll hold you back from death and slaughter, the path your lives are on, yes I will give new Life, So have compassion for your neighbor, struggling in sin, for you know what they lack, Love them as yourself and give them every chance to turn, and you may hold them back!

If Jesus didn't rise from the grave, if in that cold dark tomb He stayed, Then my faith is in vain, why am I calling upon a dead name? If He didn't rise from the grave. And if He didn't die for my sin, then three days later rise again, Then go ahead and pass me a drink, cause when I die I'm just gonna sit in the ground and stink, If Jesus didn't rise from the grave. Oh but He did, and it's a graceful mystery, why He gave His life for me, rose to give eternity, He's the firstfruits for you and me, oh yes He did! If it's all just a fairy-tale, if he didn't tear apart that veil, Then I'm still stuck in my sin, I'd be too defiled to enter in, If Jesus didn't tear up that old veil. Oh but He did, He made a way for me, to approach the throne boldly, He became my High Priest, the perfect go-between, oh yes He did! If Jesus didn't live the perfect life, if He wasn't a holy sacrifice, Then in myself I would boast, I would still be offering up my sheep and my goats! If He wasn't a holy sacrifice... Oh but He was, He was the Great I Am, became the sacrificial lamb, and welcomed me into His fam, that's short for family people... Oh yes He did! He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, proved Himself with miracles, became our sacrifice, oh how He died. He spent three days in the grave, but that's not where He stayed, so don't pity me 'cause I'm saved... He rose again!

The blood of goats and rams, still left us with bloody hands, The priest behind the veil, could never make up for the times we'd failed, Two tablets made of stone, could only show how far astray we'd gone, All of our sacrifice, could never bring new life, But the prophets of days gone by, told us there would come a time, When all things would be made new, God Himself would come to you, All your sins He would forgive, and you could truly live, The promise of a promise to come, has come true in God's own son... A new covenant, I give to you, Not like the old one that you knew, For every one of you will know me, From the greatest to the least, And I will be your God, I'll walk with you down each path you trod, Your lawless deeds, I will forget, For my son will pay your debt, The sacrifice of the Just One Man, Once and for all shall cleanse your hands, And from your side I'll never part, I'll put my Spirit into your heart, All these things and more I'll do, when my new covenant I give to you...
